Good Food, Good Conversation

We’re looking for several volunteers to suggest a topic for ‘dine arounds’ on Thursday, March 11 (6:30 pm – 9:00 pm). Volunteer facilitators pick a focus for conversation, make reservations at a nearby restaurant, and agree to lead their group to dinner. Participants sign up at the conference. Sign up is free but each participant covers the cost of his/her meal.

  1. Well, a digital history dine around seems like a natural. And I wonder if there are enough of us involved in Teaching American History grants for one of those.

    (No, I am not volunteering.)

  2. I'd be interested in a historical thinking/teaching with primary sources dine-around. That might be a good way of broadening the TAH grant idea beyond just participants in that program... I can volunteer to coordinate, but I don't know Portland at all. Would need some restaurant ideas. When do volunteers usually book their reservations?
